Somatic Practitioner
Your body knows the direction of healing and life.
-Eugene Gendlin
I offer individual online somatic sessions grounded in the Somatic Experiencing® method, a gentle, body-oriented approach to working with the ongoing effects of stress and trauma on the nervous system.
Your nervous system helps you survive by detecting danger, responding to threat, and orienting toward safety. These responses provide essential protection. But patterns that once protected you can continue long after they are needed. You may still feel stressed or find yourself running away, bracing, fighting back, appeasing others, or shutting down in situations where these responses are no longer necessary or helpful.
Somatic work can support you whether you are struggling with the effects of a particular difficult or overwhelming experience, living with longstanding patterns that are difficult to change, or simply wanting to feel more present, embodied, and fully alive.
Together, we listen for and follow your body’s own direction toward healing and life, slowing down to notice how protective patterns are showing up in your present experience and what they may need in the moment. As these automatic patterns are consciously felt, they can begin to release, opening greater capacity for choice, connection, and ease.
